Raymond M. Cesca appointed President of the World Agricultural Forum
Cesca brings more than 20 years of experience to the Forum
ST. LOUIS (February 2007) – The World Agricultural Forum (WAF) appointed Raymond M. Cesca as President bringing more than 20 years of experience in the agribusiness industry. In his capacity as president, Cesca will work to bring the organization’s vision to fruition.
It is the vision of the WAF to continue fostering a platform for dialogue between those who can empower agriculture, sustaining the lives and livelihood of the world’s population by meeting the growing needs for food fuel and fiber. The WAF’s mission is to help solve the ever-challenging problems compromising the world’s use and sustainability of agricultural resources by being a catalyst in the development of plans that prompt action.
"With the agribusiness industry expanding beyond food into other key industries, the need for innovative solutions has never been greater," said Leonard Guarraia, WAF Chairman. "Ray will help us develop and build relationships with leaders from around the world, in addition to uniting them in a neutral and inclusive forum for the discussion and debate of issues demanding solutions to hunger and poverty."
Previously, Cesca served as the Managing Director of McDonald’s World Trade, where he was responsible for reducing or eliminating McDonald’s trade barriers in the 118 countries, in which the company does business. He was also responsible for Global Purchasing for McDonald’s.
Cesca will serve as president of the World Agricultural Forum while also serving as President and CEO of Global Alliance for Economic Advancement (GAEÁ), a market development, trade and strategic planning organization that promotes the development of small to medium-sized enterprises in the support of economic advancement in developing countries. His work will also continue as Chairman of the Agribusiness and World Markets Committee for the Pacific Basin Economic Council.
